The answer is simple: Host a live web event like a teleseminar or webinar. OK, I know I may have just lost about 95% of my readers with that last statement. It sounds mighty intimidating, difficult, and expensive. Intimidating, yes, it is the first few times you do it. (What is the rule about succeeding in life: "You Only Grow When You are Out of Your Comfort Zone"). This is one of those "moments", unfortunately. I remember how nervous I was the first time I did it, too. Afterward, I could not BELIEVE how easy it was and how much my listeners enjoyed it. (Oh, BTW, I later sold that first teleseminar as an archive for $97 a pop!). One hour of talking on the phone. That was it. By about the third event, you wonder why you don't do it sooner. REALLY! It is probably the easiest way of making money online. OK, so enough of my rants about how I like teleseminars and webinars to grow (or even start) your business online. Let's do a quick definition before we get to cost and technical stuff... A teleseminar is essentially a voice-only event which is typically done on the phone. You call a phone number (as a host) and everyone else can join the call and listen to what you have to say. The term "webcast" now refers to the ability to listen to these events through a live stream on the internet (so the listener doesn't have to be on the phone). The host is usually on a phone, but in some cases they now use VOIP (voice over IP). This is like using Skype for the audio and the presenter usually talks into the computer microphone or headset. (Phone quality still seems to be the choice for most presenters). Webinars add the dimension of video, too. This is usually a powerpoint presentation, live screen shots or even live video. This is a great way of teaching and is generally more interactive. I know, this sounds very cool, but it also sounds costly and difficult to set-up. Fortunately, both of these statements are myths! Technology allows us to interact with groups of people in extremely efficient, affordable and simple ways. For less than $100/month (and for smaller groups, even FREE), there are surveys that do EVERYTHING for you (well, everything except the content of the event itself!). In this section, I want to show you some of the teleseminar and webinar tools that I use the most (and why you would choose one over the other). There ARE trade-offs between price, technology and size of the events. Whatever the case, there ARE options for you to start today (and like I say, some of these options are FREE!) |
