Detailed Wealthy Affiliate Review

A few years I bought into the Wealthy Affiliate program and I felt, "Well, it is OK. No better than the rest, Nothing too special." So I did not even bother writing a review for it. When the Wealthy Affiliate 2.0 was released, I kind of ignored it at first. But I started hearing some good things about it, so I thought I would buy into the new program and see what all of the hype was all about.

The Wealthy Affiliate 2.0 is a little different than many other money making programs: it is a membership, not just a product. My first thought: this means that I have a monthly bill. Darn! On a good note, that means they really must keep the content good and up-to-date in order to maintain members. I'm listening!

So I first went over the content:

• There is a heck of a lot of it!
• The organization is fantastic (they separate it out into different levels of experience: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced).
• The provide sensible time-frames to go through the material (such as their 8-Week Success Plan)
• It is separated out into Guides, Courses and Downloads.

 Yes, there is a lot of content! And I thought that the content was relatively good and informative (TruGuru has more thorough video training content, for example).

But it was not the content that really "wow'ed" me about this new Wealthy Affiliate Internet Marketing University program, it is its community!

The Q&A forum was well established (with over 160,000 posts!). Further, the founders of the Wealthy Affiliate, Kyle and Carson, do offer personal assistance through the forum as well as through private messaging. The community seems very strong and willing to help any questions you may have.

The Wealthy Affiliate also embraces many of the current "Web 2.0" features directly within its community.  This includes:

• WA Sharezone - Share content with other members
• WA Space - Kind of like a Twitter meets Facebook
• WApedia - Its own Wikipedia focusing on money making terms
• Just Added! WA Gold - Get paid (literally!!) for contributing to the Wealthy Affiliate!

Also included is their WA Jobs section where you can post or even bid on projects from other members. As a freelancer, this may be a good way of finding work with minimal (no!) service fees.

Thinks about the Wealthy Affiliate Program:

The Resource Center provides you with a lot of good (and novel) tools to help with Clickbank and Keyword research. Included in these tools is the "My-Linker" resource. Understand that one of the most difficult parts of affiliate marketing is tracking conversions. This is a major pitfall to affiliate marketing in general. The My-Linker tool creates a way for you to track when a visitor leaves your website using a certain affiliate link. Personally, I do my own link tracking with some rather tricky code work, redirects and complicated analytic software, but for the newbie and not "tech-savvy" internet marketer, this tool is rather good!

Speaking of non-tech-savvy users, Wealthy Affiliate now offers one of the simplest and easiest-to-manage content management systems currently on the internet called SiteRubix.  What is a content management system?  Basically, it is a tool that you can create websites directly on your internet browser.  You do not need to create "code" and all of the technical stuff is done from you.  It is hard to explain here, so I created a 10 minute video below to show you how easy it is to use the Wealthy Affiliate SiteRubix tool to create a website:

In addition to the site builder, SiteRubix, the Wealthy Affiliate will also include free hosting as long as you remain a member.  And again, this is *Not* one of those "Free Websites" to make you money. 

personally don't like those and they do not provide you much flexibility on marketing, content or look.  This IS a real website that YOU design, but requires very little technical knowledge to do so.

What's the cost?  You can join as a monthly member for $97/month or save yourself over $30/month by paying annually for $797 (That is only $67/month for the society, training, monthly hosting and awesome website creator).

So is the Wealthy Affiliate worth it? Uh, YEA! I've been a paying member now for well over THREE years and I don't plan on leaving.  I think they got it right with their 2.0 version! I like the content and organization, but I absolutely love the community, tools and support network. When you join Wealthy Affiliate, it really does feel like you have joined "their family". HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
