Market Samurai Review
Ultimate Keyword Research & SEO tool?
How Market Samurai Compares...
The Market Samurai Keyword Research Tool is now FREE even past the initial free trial period!
Now Frank raves about a lot of stuff (but in some cases, I am rather impressed...Traffic Geyser was another example of this!).
But in most cases, too, Frank is usually promoting rather pricy products. So, for a keyword research tool I was expecting some Rolls Royce piece of software with a Rolls Royce price tag.
First, Market Samurai offered a free 30 day trial (no credit card even required). At this time, I didn't even look at the price, I just was anxious to try it.
At first, I found Market Samurai kind of confusing. It wanted a single keyword to start. OK. I did that and the program opened up a bit.
It offered a bunch of tools. At this point, I admit to be a little bit confused, but at the bottom of the window there were links to the video tutorials.
Oh, Market Samurai is a tool that is downloaded on your computer and it runs locally, not within your browser. It still needs a internet connection to get new data, though. And YES, it works on both a MAC and Windows PC!!
So once I started to watch a few of the videos, things went much faster and the Market Samurai tool really opened up for me!
"Where Do You Rank in Google for a Specific Keyword?"
Sure, you can do searches all day trying to find this, but the Rank Tracker tool from Market Samurai does it for you. Find out where you are ranked for a whole list of keywords in search engines such as Google, Yahoo and Bing.
I use this tool to track my own SEO efforts as well as watch my competitors very closely. Also, because Market Samurai is a local piece of software, you can easily save your lists and results for later use. (This way, I can continuously update and analyze my search engine ranking with a click of a button!)
"What Keywords are the Most Profitable"
Market Samurai uses the Google keyword tool engine to do most of the initial keyword research. This did not impress me (since the Google keyword tool is free). But when I went into analysis mode, I could not believe all of the information it was able to derive about each keyword.
- PPC Analysis: Current bid prices, current advertisers, estimated clicks per day
- SEO Analysis: Value of top positions, number of potential clicks for top positions, current competors
- Keyword Analysis: Percent of those who buy products from this keyword (Quality!), Value of a top position
Hours of keyword research tied into one, simple downloadable table.
"What Do I Need to do to Get on Page One of Google?"
I have used these SEO competition tables in the past (I still really like Brad Callen's SEO Elite for similar tasks). But the Market Samuri SEO Competition table is extremely thorough and fast (and includes both on-page and off-page analysis).
Content and Backlink Finder
I really didn't think I was going to use the content and backlink finder tools of Market Samarai (considering I do know how to use Google), but I have found myself drawn to doing quick searches (that are specific to certain websites like eZineArticles, etc.) to do some initial seo and social marketing research.
Finding authorities in your niche doesn't come easier than this. Search Wordpress blogs or Forums or Squidoo Lens or YouTube videos on any niche and magically the authority websites and people surface really quickly. This is much easier and more defined than any general search engine research I have done in the past.
NEW! Affiliate Product Research & Landing Page Generator
One great thing about Market Samurai is that they seem to be always adding new tools and functionality. The latest tool is their "Monetization" section which focuses on finding and researching affiliate products. Their engine taps into places like Clickbank, PayDotCom, Amazon and Commission Junction to find products. The research engine is good and it is an easier engine to use than any of these four programs on an individual basis. Still, no eye-openers when it comes to the data your receive.
It is the landing page generator that I thought was really cool, though. Once you do choose a few products, the Market Samuria tool will "scrape" those website for assets (i.e., images), headlines and sales copy. From here it is just drag-and-drop to create either an HTML webpage, a blog post, a blog side bar or a banner.
(I have been using it to help create my own sales pages, as well...hint, hint!)
If you have a Wordpress blog, the importation process is just a click of a button. Very fast, very effective with little to no work or effort required. Love this new add-on!
OK, I was sold after about one day of playing with my free Market Samurai trial. But I was really concerned about how much this was going to cost. (Was I going to have to commit to another $97/month product or was I going to have to pay over $1000 for a product like this?)
One time fee: $149.
This was such a no-brainer. The value is unbelievable for Market Samurai. And just in the few months that I have owned it, they continue to add new functionality (and the upgrades are all included!).
The initial learning curve initially scared me, but after watching a few of their videos, I achieve full effectiveness of the Market Samurai tool.
This is a definite must in my arsenal of online tools:
For SEO, I use it to monitor and optimize many of search engine optimization campaigns (and to spy on my competitors!).
For Social Media, I use it to identify the authorities in my market as well as conduct personal research for new and upcoming campaigns.
My advice...AT LEAST try it for free (they don't even ask for a credit card!). I think you will be rather impressed (and sold almost immediately, like I was!)
