How TubeMogul Compares...
Most successful online marketers
know that video marketing is one of the most effective ways to send tons of
traffic to your website and I completely agree — based on my own
experience. As part of my video marketing reviews, I have
been assessing different sites that offer the best video marketing services in
order to provide you with non-biased and informative analyses of each one. In this review, I am going to evaluate the
video marketing company, TubeMogul.
TubeMogul is a free video
submission service that has been around since 2006. When used right, this service can send
countless leads and traffic to your website. Although other video marketing companies offer many more submissions if
you pay for their service, TubeMogul offers approximately 25 video site
submissions for free. This is a great
option if you are just starting out or simply do not have the funds to pay for
other services right now.
Before I show you how easy it is
to use TubeMogul, I want to you to be aware of an important policy of theirs. This company is somewhat strict when it comes
to which videos you can upload for submission. TubeMogul is not a fan of spammy and commercialized videos and has a
filter in place that will reject overly promotional videos. This
simply means that you need to make sure you are submitting quality content in
your videos that provides valuable information to the viewers. If you try to pass a video through that is
too promotional and commercialized, your submission will not only be rejected,
but you run the chance of having your account banned, as well. So, keep this in mind when choosing your
videos and make sure that they provide honest and valuable content.
Okay, let’s get started so that
you can see how easy it is to use TubeMogul! Once you log-in to the site, click on “Dashboard” in the upper
right-hand corner. This is the main
interface where you will do all of your submissions. From here, click on the “OneLoad” tab. You will see the following screen…
Click on “Upload Video” and you
will see this…
Simply browse your computer and
upload your stored video. You will be
presented with another screen that shows the progress of your video that is
being uploaded. While it is uploading, you
are going to need to fill in the necessary information pertaining to your
video. You will be asked for the title,
a short description, which tags (keywords) you want to add and the category of
After the video is finished
uploading, you click the “Upload” button and head to the next screen. Here, you will see the video sites listed
that you can send your content to. Unfortunately, you will need to create accounts at each one of these
sites — which a little time-consuming and tedious — but, after that, your
information is stored for future submissions and you will not need to do this
again. The following is what the
interface looks like for you to select which video sites you would like to
You will see that there is also a
tab that you can click on to receive additional site submissions, but you will
need to fill out a simple form requesting TubeMogul to grant you access to
those sites and if they approve you, you will be sent a key code to unlock
There are also some social
networking sites listed and if you wish to submit to them, you need to click on
each one and request a token for access to your account. After that, you are free to choose those
sites, as well, for your video submissions.
Once you are ready to submit your
video, simply click the “Launch” button and you are finished! This is not it, though. TubeMogul provides a great interface for
checking your stats, as well.
On the left-hand side in your
dashboard, you can view your site submission stats under the Channel Report tab or view your video stats under the Video Report tab...
As you can see, TubeMogul is
definitely a great free service for video marketing. I think that it’s great for beginners and those
who need to wait a little longer until their budget can withstand a paid
service, but if you want some serious traffic and backlinks, you are almost
always going to need a paid service that offers on-going link building and way
more site submissions.
