1and1 Hosting Review Pros and Cons

1and1 web
hosting is a big and popular company. But not all the reviews are raving. We
took a closer look to see if 1and1 reviews would be a good hosting company for
beginners and for intermediate to advanced website owners.

If you are searching
for a web host, 1and1.com is a large web hosting company that has a strong presence
and offers a variety of web hosting packages.

With 1and1
web hosting, you can register domains, create a personal website, create a
business website, and you can set up online stores as well. If you’re new to
web hosting, you can sign up for an account and if you want to switch existing
sites to a new host, you can transfer your website to 1and1. The company offers
several web hosting packages for people looking for simple and small websites
as well as for people who want more robust options.

Their site is easy to use with an easy-to-navigate c-panel that you can log into:

While 1and1
does have plenty to offer, they don’t have the best reputation for their customer
service or their up time. This means that you may want to do more research
before choosing them for something critical, such as an online store.

Note:

Some of the more recent reviews have been more
positive so perhaps 1and1 has been listening to complaints and is striving to
improve their services. They offer dual hosting to improve their up-time  with dual datcenters at different locations. (If you have feedback on a recent experience, we'd love to hear it!)

If you’d
like to look at several options, check out the web hosting reviews we’ve done
here on TheWebReviewer. We’ve taken a close look at several companies and share
helpful information about them as well as link to special offers that are going
on.

If you’ve
had a positive or a negative experience with 1and1 hosting, feel free to share. Here on TheWebReviewer, we invite you to complete your own reviews on our site as well.

In terms of the cost of services, 1and1 hosting does have pricing  that is very competitive:

Domains
start at .99 per year, which is very competitive (lower than many competitors)

Creating a
website starts at just $4.99 a month

Hosting
only starts at $3.49

You can
open your own e-commerce store starting at $11.99 a month

They offer
a 90 day guarantee so it may be worthwhile to try them out to see if they are right for you. For many people, the free .com domain registration is a good selling point.
