In the "$2000" market of online marketing products, this is one of the few that actually meets the expectation of the cost. Jeff Walker has been creating this PLF product for years now. His expertise in the topic of product launching and selling products on the internet is unsurpassed. His training techniques (mostly in the form of video and webinars) are clear and precise. And the content that is delivered is usually cutting edge with techniques that are achieveable by most current and aspiring online entrepreneurs.
CONS:
This isn't a magic button to make your rich. This is not a quick scheme or one single strategy that works...this is about creating a successful online business. Expect to do work. Expect there will be challenges. But following these types of techniques will give you the best chance at success online. I do wish there was an event tied to this program (which there hasn't been in the past), but he usually does quite a few webinars to help answer questions plus the quality of education is well worth the price alone.

The first time I ever saw Jeff Walker was back in June of 2007 at a StomperLive Conference in Atlanta. This was at a time after the launch of a product of my own and I really never thought there was a strategy to product launching. I just thought you gather a few affiliates, write a little bit in the forums and email your list a couple of times before the launch.
I learned my lesson the hard way and when I saw Jeff's presentation on some strategies on how to do it RIGHT, I was kicking myself in the you-know-what! Now, being a little bit wiser, I realize the importance of the product launch not only to build a large sum of money at the initial launch, but to continue to bring in a steady income AFTER the launch is complete.
I have spoken with some of Jeff's "Success Stories" and I am always floored by the fact that his strategies were able to take a $2000 launch and $500 residual income to a $70,000 launch with $10,000 residual income. THAT IS HUGE!

Skipping up here to 2010, I have new insights into the Product Launch Formula that I have never had before...both as a user/client as well as a promoter.
First, there is this question going around the internet about "Is the Product Launch Dead?" I personally have been involved with dozens of OTHER people's launches and a couple of my own (structured strongly behind the teachings of Jeff).
The answer is NO, but the rules have changed in most cases. Let me explain...
1) You can't base the effectiveness of the product launch on home business products. This is where the "Product Launch Dead" idea came from. Heck, we INVENTED the online product launch and doing it over and over again to the same niche (i.e., internet marketers), it becomes old.
2) Outside of the "internet marketing niche", people are not aware of product launches. Therefore, their effectiveness is still extremely high.
3) As with everything internet marketing related, things are always evolving and improving. Jeff Walker is an analytical person plus he works with some of the most analytical people in the business (Ryan Deiss?). It is not that old strategies are bad, it is just new ones are better.
(I remember when 25% opt-in rates were great!...now, some techiques can get over 50%!)
My point here is:
1) The product launch IS just as powerful now than it ever has been.
2) Newer techniques make these launches more profitable than ever!
After talking recently with Jeff's brother, Jon, I asked him about PLF 3.0. He explains that the new release is very different than before with many of the current techniques that are sweeping the internet (like social media) being incorporated into the launches, as well.
And as much as PLF 1 and 2.0 have aided in the success of selling my own products, it taught me some powerful internet marketing techiques to grow my affiliate marketing websites, too.
